On January 15, 2021, Kathleen A. Pelletier, after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease, left this world on a journey to a better place. She leaves, to cherish her memory, her wife, Judy Nicoll; sisters, Joanne C. Paquin and Barbara Brunelle; and many in-laws. The youngest of eight children, Kathy leaves numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grandnephews and their children, whom she always referred to as “her kids” and they in turn recognize her as the greatest Auntie Kathy ever. This phrase would always bring a smile to her face. Kathy also leaves many dear friends who were a very important part of her life. She was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Braida (Tyrell) Pelletier; sisters, Yvonne Taillefer and Theresa Pelletier; and her brothers, Joseph, Louis and Richard Pelletier. She looked forward to family events and her annual Women’s Week getaway to Provincetown MA which occurred each year during the fall, her favorite season. One of Kathy's proudest accomplishments was obtaining her bachelor’s degree, which she did by taking evening courses while working full time, although classes could never be on her bowling nights. Kathy was a locally well-known 10 pin bowler, holder of several 600 pin awards. She was a volunteer in the Springfield school system and looked forward to her time at school each week. She truly enjoyed her work, her activities and the people she met along the way. Kathy had a marvelous laugh and she would want us all to keep smiling. A memorial service will be held at a later date, and the Byron Keenan Funeral Home is in charge of her arrangements. Memorial donations in her name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage St, Springfield MA 01104 or Compassus Hospice & Palliative Care, 246 King St, Suite 239, Northampton, MA 01060 or the charity of your choice.
