Tribute

Linda M. (Moyer) McCallum, 74, of Wilbraham, died early Friday morning, February 14, 2020, at Baystate Medical Center, with her loving family at her side. She was born in NY, NY, a daughter of the late John F. and Estelle (Krawczyk) Moyer, and was educated in the Huntington, MA elementary school system and was a graduate as well as the Class Valedictorian of St. Mary’s Parochial School system in Westfield. Linda retired as a Director of Customer Service after 30 years with Mass Mutual Insurance Company where she held various positions throughout her career. She was an avid gardener who enjoyed the peace and tranquility of working in her yard. Her favorite pastime was spending quality time with her grandchildren as they were her main focus in the later years. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip L. McCallum who died in 2015 and the loving mother of the late Kelly Crawford of Wilbraham. She is survived by a son, Robert S. Laughlin and his wife Meredith of East Longmeadow; five grandchildren, Jonathan and Christopher Crawford, and Abigail, Kathryn and Elizabeth Laughlin; three stepchildren, Philip and Michael McCallum, and Patricia Hovey and her husband Tod; as well as nine step-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her brother, Allen Moyer of Naperville, IL; and a sister, Kathleen Burda of Gilford, VT. A special thanks to staff and friends, especially Leo Roy, at Bluebird Estates who brightened her days in recent months.  Relatives and friends are welcome to gather on Wednesday, February 26th from 4-7 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, in Springfield. A private burial will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Agawam. In lieu of flowers contributions in Linda’s name may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association, 264 Cottage Street, Springfield, MA 01104 or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Greater New England Chapter, 101A 1st Ave., Waltham, MA 02451.
