Linda Ann (O’Neill) Plumb, 71, a resident of Hampden for the past 22 years and former longtime resident of Springfield, died late Saturday evening, May 5, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Ludlow, educated in the Springfield School system a daughter of the late John and Theresa (Lauria) O’Neill and was a graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School Class of 1965. Linda earned her Certified Medical Assistant degree from S.T.C.C., and was employed with the River Bend Medical Group for over 33 years retiring in 2010. She was a former Brownie mother while she was raising her family, enjoyed gardening and her flowers, but most of all her passion was raising her children. Linda and her husband made a point of attending most of their sporting events throughout the years. More recently, she and the love of her life of 52 years, Edward J. “Jim” Plumb enjoyed yearly trips to Florida and Mexico, as well as an occasional cruise. They also spent their leisurely time following their three grandchildren’s school sporting events. Besides Jim, she leaves her loving daughter, Sherri L. Assad and her husband John, and her loving son, John E. Plumb and his wife Christine both of Wilbraham; her sister, Diane Shepard and her husband Barry of Springfield; three loving grandchildren, Jordan Assad, Brendan Plumb and Michael Assad; two sisters-in-law, Sandra Dodd of Hampden and Nina Twining and her husband Milton of Springfield; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Her funeral will be held on Thursday, May 10th at 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., Springfield, with Rites of Committal to follow at Old Cemetery, Chapin Road in Hampden.
