Linton Anthony Ranson

Tribute

Linton Anthony (Tony) Ranson, 82, a resident of Springfield since 1964 died at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 8, 2019.  He was born and educated in Beaumont, Texas.  (Junior) was the oldest child and only son of the late Linton N. and Clorena (Mires) Ranson.   Tony was the former owner and operator of Tony’s Janitorial Service of Springfield which he ran with his family members for over 35 years retiring in the late 1990’s. After his retirement, Tony worked for the Holyoke Soldiers Home and Westover Job Corp for several years.  His favorite pastime was to drive back home to Texas with his late wife Gloria listening to Blues and Country Music.  Tony was the beloved husband of 45 years to the late Gloria Jane (Richard) Ranson who died in 2002.  He leaves six loving children; Timothy Ranson (Deborah) of Atlanta, GA, Marcia Gadson-Harris (Antonio), Charlotte Cameron and Marie Ranson of Springfield, Anthony Ranson of Dorchester, MA and Gloria Lynn Martin of San Francisco, CA.   Five sisters; Marcel Lee Lewis (Leon) of Oakland, CA, Georgia Allen (James) of Beaumont, TX, Ethel Fryar (Charles), Clorena Ann Ranson and Patricia Moss all of Springfield.  Five sisters-in law; Nona Howard (Olin) of Beavercreek, Ohio, Marie Hewlett, Elaine Dise (John), Joyce Manning and Dorothy Augustus all of Springfield; a daughter-in law, Ruth Ranson of Stockbridge, GA; 17 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces/nephews, relatives and friends.  Besides his parents and wife, Tony was predeceased by his son Daniel Ranson Sr. in May 2018; two daughters-in-law, Jean (Parker) Ranson and Tara Sisco. His late sisters; Mary Allen, Gloria Scott, Theresa and Cecilia Ranson and a great grandson Joaquin Cameron.  In-laws; Colbert Allen, Maudry and Irvin Batiste Sr., Mary Ella and Skelton Pete and Emmanuel Hewlett.

Our family chain has been broken and nothing seems the same but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again.

So loved, so missed, always remembered.
