Marianne (Miller) Bigelow, 67 of East Longmeadow, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Springfield on December 8, 1952, the daughter of Philomena (Vecchiarelli) Miller and the late George Miller. Marianne was a graduate of Commerce High School. She also graduated from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst with a degree in education. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield. Marianne passionately taught early education, including children with learning disabilities and special needs. She was an excellent cook and loved baking her famous Christmas cookies. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially in her beautiful wooded lot, being with her family who she valued beyond all else, and traveling with her husband and her best friends. She cherished how fortunate she was to spend quality time with her mother. In addition to her father she was also predeceased by a brother George Miller. Marianne is survived by her beloved husband Lester Bigelow of East Longmeadow, her loving mother Philomena Miller of East Longmeadow and two devoted sons Matthew J. Hogan of Springfield and Alexander L. Bigelow of Longmeadow and a cherished granddaughter Cora Knurek-Hogan. Family and friends will gather and remember Marianne on Monday, May 18, 2020 from 9-11a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA.
