Mary Lee (Breeden) Cromer, 81, of Springfield, formerly of Daniels, West Virginia, died late Sunday evening, October 3, 2021 in the comfort of her home with her loving husband at her side. She was born and educated in Daniels, WV a daughter of the late James and Dorothy (Lester) Breeden and was a graduate of Shady Springs High School Class of 1957. Shortly after graduation, Mary enlisted in the United States Air Force where she served her country for several years. During this time, she earned her Associates Degree as a Paralegal working out of Westover Air Force Base. After her honorable discharge from active duty, Mary worked for several years climbing the corporate ladder of Big Y Supermarket. She was an avid gardener and began taking classes and learning the craft of upholstery. She is survived by her best friend and devoted husband of 53 years, Leon J. Cromer of Springfield; her son, Cornelius “Corky” Trowbridge and his wife Laurie of Ludlow; two loving daughters, Mary Beth Pinney of Simsbury, CT, and Gabriella Tebbens of Huntersville, NC; a sister, Virginia Smith of Elk, WA; eight cherished grandchildren, Channing, Stefanie, Justine, Neve, MacKenzie, Emellyth, Kingston and Johann; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Mary was predeceased by her two daughters, Terri Trowbridge and Angelique Cromer; her brother, James Breeden and sister, Dorothy Kantor. Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, October 9th from 10 – 11 AM followed by a funeral home service beginning at 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., in Springfield.
