Maureen Kathleen (Máirín Sheáin Tom Ni Chearnaigh) Oski, 88, of Springfield, passed away at her home on April 15th, 2017. Maureen was born on the Great Blasket Island in County Kerry, Ireland, the daughter of the late Sheáin Tom and Neili (Ni Dhálaigh) O’ Kearnaigh. Maureen immigrated from Ireland in 1948 and settled in Springfield, Massachusetts. Maureen was married for 59 years to the late Glenn W. Oski and was blessed with six children.
Maureen loved being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will always be remembered as the heart of the family with a mischievous twinkle in her eye and smile to share. Everyone who met her knew that she was a source of comfort and help to anyone who needed a patient ear and a kind heart.
She is survived by her children Glenn & his wife Lisa, Allan & his wife Jutta, Kim and Lynn Ann & her partner, Jane, and her nine adored grandchildren, Susan, Christopher, Trevor, Lauren, Justin, David, Ryan, Kaelyn and Kelsey and a great grandchild Abigail In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her beloved husband the late Glenn Wayne Oski on November, 7, 2016 and two sons David Oski and Brian Oski, as well as eight brothers Maurice, Michael, Thomas, Patrick, Martin, William, James and John and one sister Cait.

Family and friends will honor and remember Maureen on Friday, April 21st at 11:15 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12:30 PM in St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, with Rites of Committal at 2:00 PM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, in Agawam. Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
