Melanie (Kuczarski) Nicholl, 64, of Fort Myers, FL, passed into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 in Fort Myers. Melanie was born in Springfield, MA, on January 5, 1954, the daughter of Eugenie (Adamski) Kuczarski of Springfield and the late Frank Kuczarski. In addition to her mother, Melanie is survived by her devoted husband of 39 years, Robert Nicholl, MD, of Fort Myers; sister Karen McGettrick and her husband Paul of Springfield; brothers Franklin Kuczarski and his wife Mary of Springfield, and Donald Kuczarski and his wife Lisa of Pittsfield, MA; niece Angela Kuczarski; nephews Brant McGettrick and his wife Colleen, Christopher Kuczarski and his wife Charlene, Devon McGettrick and his wife April, and John Kuczarski; as well as five grandnieces. Melanie was predeceased by her beloved Auggie. Melanie cherished her family, and they so cherished her. Melanie was a graduate of Classical High School and received a degree in nursing from Elms College. Subsequent to her career as a nurse at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and Hospital of University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Melanie was Health Services Manager for CIGNA Healthplan of Massachusetts and Connecticut before moving to the Boston area, where she was Director of Medical and Surgical Review for Blue Cross & Blue Shield until she became an independent legal nurse consultant. Melanie moved to Fort Myers in 2009, where she was an active member of First Presbyterian Church and volunteered at the Animal Rescue Center and at Florida Cancer Specialists, where she received treatment. She was an avid gardener and loved to play golf. Melanie will be remembered most for her fervent faith and her generous, loving spirit. All services and burial will be private.
