Michael W. Soplop, Jr., of Ludlow, Massachusetts, passed away on January 9th after a lengthy illness. He was the son of the late Michael W. Soplop, Sr. and the late Rita (LaMothe) Soplop. Michael attended East Longmeadow public schools, and was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He worked in the medical field, most notably, at Olean Hospital and Holyoke Hospital.
He leaves behind his daughters, Maia Appleby and Stephanie Soplop, both of Florida, his grandchildren, Cody Gunton, Serena Soplop, Taryn Appleby, and his significant partner of twenty years, Sarah Kuzniar.
Michael enjoyed the company of his many friends and caregivers, and particularly enjoyed visits to Cape Cod and the seashore with his friends. He will be missed by all those who knew him, because of his kindness, generosity and great sense of humor.
Family and friends will gather at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St. Springfield, Massachusetts on Thursday, February 7, 2019. A visiting hour will be held from 11:30-12:30 AM with a funeral home service at 12:30 P.M. Burial will be private.
