Misael Rodriguez Cruz

Misael Rodriguez Cruz, Sr. 80, of Springfield, formerly of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico died late Tuesday morning, October 5, 2021 at Care One at Redstone of East Longmeadow, with his loving family by his side. Misael was born in Maricao, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Angel Rodriguez and Aurora Cruz, residing in Springfield for most of his life. He made his career in the construction/laborer industry for most of his adult life in the Greater Western Massachusetts area. Misael’s greatest joy came from spending quality time with his three children and their families. After all, family was primarily and always his greatest treasure. In his spare time, Misael enjoyed repairing and restoring vintage muscle cars. He also spent his leisurely time restoring antique furniture, spending countless hours stripping, sanding, staining and finally the finish coats bringing a new life to quality pieces of furniture. He was the beloved husband of the late Linda G. (Smith) Rodriguez, who died in July of 2017. He leaves three loving children, Michael Rodriguez and his wife Raynalda of San Antonio, TX, Annette Rodriguez of Lynn, MA, and Misael Rodriguez, Jr. and his wife Mara of East Longmeadow; his step-daughter, Dr. Agnes Quińones of Meriden, CT; seven cherished grandchildren, Michael, Marlina, Jonah, Amaya, Kessandra, Kayla and Adam; a brother, Julio Cesar Pesante, a sister, Ramona Morales, both of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, and a sister, Carmen Feliciano of Philadelphia, PA; his former wife, Ines Rodriguez Cruz of Lynn, MA; as well as many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday, October 14th from 10:00 AM till 12:00 PM, followed by a Funeral Home Service beginning at 12:15 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, with burial to conclude at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, both in Springfield.
