Monique Ni-chole Owens, “Moni” to some and “Nikki” family. She gained her wings and transitioned with the Lord Friday morning at her Holyoke residence February 2, 2024 .  Monique was born the now both late Mark Anthony Davis and Reginna Leslie Owens in Toledo, Ohio, on November 24, 1981.  Monique had aspirations to be in the medical field by studying at Alabama A&M University and later selected for Yale University’s Medical program. Monique was an avid traveler, including abroad, and loved to take cruises.  Monique chose a career as a special needs nurse, but always made family her number one priority. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her brothers Reginald & Terry Owens. She is survived by her three devoted children RayShawn Owens-Coleman, Edson & Edward Mwandemani, her former husband Richard Mwandemani, and her two loving sisters, Ebony & Tiffany Owens. She also has one grandson, Joseph Owens. Family and friends will gather and remember Monique on Tuesday, February 13, 2024 from 10am-11am at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118, Followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
