Nancy Louise Beck

Nancy Louise Beck (Race), 82, a longtime resident of East Longmeadow, MA and Townshend, VT passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Nancy was born in Norfolk, VA, on September 9, 1939, the daughter of the late Walter J. and Vivian (Manning) Beck. Nancy was a volunteer for much of her life working with the American Red Cross and FEMA. In her early years she was very involved in the East Longmeadow community theater. Nancy was a devoted Christian. Her strength and faith led many family members to the lord. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her daughter Ann Louise Forgette and a brother John Beck. Nancy is survived by her two children Susan Race Richard of East Longmeadow and Michael T. Race and his wife Mary of East Longmeadow, and a brother Richard M. Beck of Philadelphia, PA along with his children. She also leaves six adored grandchildren Eden Forgette, John Forgette, Sydney Richard, Erin Ryan, Michaela Race and Shane Race, along with her great-grandchild who will be arriving in February 2023. Family and friends will gather and remember Nancy on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 4-6p.m at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Followed by a Prayer Service at 6p.m. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of America, 322 Eighth Avenue, 16th Floor New York, NY 10001.
