Nancy J. (Guay) Morin

Nancy J. (Guay) Morin of Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2020.

Nancy was born on March 10, 1939 in St. Albans, VT then later resided in Chicopee (Willimansett), MA with her parents and three siblings until she was married in 1957 to Richard R. Morin.  They were married for 60 years before Richard passed away in August 2018. Nancy was predeceased by her son Richard Morin in 2016, her sister Penny Kinney, and her brother Roger Morin.

Nancy was able to say her goodbyes to her only remaining sibling, Robert Guay the day before she passed.

She is survived by her daughters and their husbands, Laura and Peter Allen; Lisa (Morin) Craig, Jane and Robert Theberge; Sandra Morin Zanetti and Frank Zanetti; and her son James P. Morin. Nancy also leaves her close cousin and her husband, Sylvia and Eugene Chaney from Geneseo, IL.

Nancy leaves behind her grandchildren, Stephen and wife Jessica Morin, Zachary and Elizabeth Allen, Michelle and Justin Morin, Matthew and Rachel Theberge, Adrian and Vincent Zanetti, and Tyler Morin.  Nancy has two great grandchildren, Chiara and Savannah that reside in Japan with their parents.  She also leaves behind her beloved miniature dog, Chance. They were together for 11 years.

Nancy worked various retail and manufacturing jobs while raising her five children.  She enjoyed sitting by the pool, crocheting, going to the casino, playing bingo, and looked forward to her weekly scratch tickets.  Nancy enjoyed cooking for her family and dressing up for any occasion.

A gathering will be held on Sunday, March 1, 2020 from 2-4p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Family and friends will meet directly on Monday, March 2, 2020 at 2pm. at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam where she will join her husband Ricky.
