Nancy D. Pooler, age 68 of Springfield, MA passed away on January 8, 2023, in Mercy Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was born in East Hartford, CT, and lived most of her life in Springfield, MA where she graduated from Cathedral High School and Springfield Community College. Nancy retired from The American Saw and Manufacturing Company in East Longmeadow, MA but made a second career as a crafter with her business Accessories by Nancy. She worked many shows and exhibits each year with her sister, Janice Cribben and mother, Doris Ross. Nancy had a wonderful personality. She could make anyone laugh and could make friends anywhere she went. Nancy could never resist a giggling baby. Her favorite places were Old Orchard Beach and Wells Beach in Maine. Nancy leaves behind her loving husband of 38 years, Alan G. Pooler; her daughters, Kathryn (Katie) N. Pooler and Cara M. Pooler and her partner Paul Lemay; her cherished grandson, Benjamin (Benji) Ross Lemay; her mother, Doris (Cardin) Ross; her sister, Janice Cribben and husband Larry; her brother, Gerald Ross and wife Mary Ann; as well as many nieces and nephews that she adored. Nancy was predeceased by her father, Edmond (Pepere) Ross and her beloved son, Daniel (Danny) Alan Pooler. Relatives and friends may call on Sunday afternoon, January 15, 2023 from 2-5 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street in Springfield. Her funeral will begin on Monday, January 16th at 9:45 AM at the funeral home followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial celebrated at 11:00 AM at St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be directed to the American Cancer Society, or the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America.
