Patricia M. (Liapis) Carroll

Patricia M. (Liapis) Carroll, 68, a longtime resident of Hampden, passed away on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 surrounded by her loving family. Patricia was born in Springfield on February 14, 1951, the daughter of Diana (Booth) Liapis of Hampden and the late Anthony Liapis. She was a graduate of Minnechaug High School, Class of 1969. Pat devoted her life to her family. She was a best friend to her daughters and she helped raise 3 of her grandsons. She was a kind and loving person who bravely fought a 6 year battle with cancer while grieving the death of her grandson. She loved knitting and sitting outside with her family, listening to the rain. She will be greatly missed by many. In addition to her father she was also predeceased by her adored grandson Eric Kirk in 2015 and a brother Peter Liapis. She is survived by her beloved husband Stephen Carroll of Hampden, three devoted children, Nicole L. Krstyen and her husband Daniel of Hampden, Thomas R. Carroll and his wife Herlinda of Las Vegas, NV., and Jamie M. Carroll of Hampden, and two brothers, Paul Liapis of Hampden and Patrick Liapis of Palmer and three sisters, Pamela Liapis of Lyndonville, VT., Paula Vanderscoff and her husband Richard of Portsmouth, R. I., and Laurie Allen and her husband Jerry of Springfield and her mother-in-law Jean Carroll. She also leaves five cherished grandchildren Kevin Carroll, Azael Carroll, Ryan Krstyen, Tyler Carroll and Rashel Carroll and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank D'Amour Cancer Center and Baystate Medical Center for their excellent care. All services and burial will be private at the family’s request.
