Patricia A. (Cratty) Stefanowicz, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022. Patricia was born in Rockville, CT., on September 17, 1941, the daughter of the late Frank and Maxine (Schlichting) Cratty. She was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Class of 1959. As a young woman she loved to go to Misquamicut Beach with her best friends Donna, Kitty, and Mary.
After she was married, she enjoyed many weekends with her husband at their home in Vermont skiing and spending time together with their children, and later as a couple, antiquing, taking scenic drives, shopping, and dining out. After her children started school, Patricia returned to the work force in banking. She served in several institutions, ending her 25-year career as a vice-president of lending with Multibank National in Springfield and Northampton. Pat always enjoyed traveling and exploring New England.
Later in life she and her husband loved to spend time in Wells, Maine with their friends. After her husband passed, Patricia treasured her time with her grandchildren, taking them places in “Grammy’s sports car.” She also took on a part-time position for the City of Springfield as a crossing guard, assisted with the Springfield Technical High School reunions, and continued to travel with her many friends - making many new ones along the way. She was a thoughtful and loving mother, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed by many.
In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Joseph E. Stefanowicz in 1996, and brother Geoffrey Cratty in 2013. Patricia is survived by her three devoted children: Richard Stefanowicz and his wife Tracy of Agawam, Jay Stefanowicz and his wife Nancy of Point Pleasant, NJ., and Jill Emma and her husband Michael of Brick, N.J. She leaves five cherished grandchildren Jessica, Michelle, Andrew, Erik, and Matthew.
