Patrick William Gleason

August 10, 1965 ~ July 15, 2021 (age 55) 55 Years Old

Tribute

On Thursday July 15, Patrick (1965) went to sleep in death. On this day we lost a faithful husband, father, son, brother, son in law, brother in law, uncle, cousin, and elder of the local Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses of the Wilbraham Congregation of Springfield, MA. Glioblastoma may have taken him out temporarily in this system but as regular Bible readers we know that Patrick is safe in Jehovah’s memory and will be brought back to life during the resurrection here on earth (John 5:28-29) when this earth is transformed into the promised paradise that we all pray for (Matthew 6: 9-10). Patrick graduated from Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham, MA in 1983 and then from American International College with his Bachelor’s Degree. Eventually becoming co-owner with his brother, Michael, of the family business Alton Gleason Paving Company. Patrick leaves his wife and best friend of 30 years Sarah (Muir), father of Liam (18) and Jenna (16) of Hampden; his mother Marilyn Gleason of Wilbraham; his brother Michael (Jackie) Gleason of Wilbraham, who never doubted him and stayed a loyal, helpful and loving brother to him; Timothy (Nicky) Gleason of Monson; Thomas Gleason of Springfield; his sister Mary-Lynn Jennison of Wilbraham; his mother in law Carol Muir of Hampden; his “brothers and sister from another mother” David (Patty) Muir of Belchertown, Eric (Laura) Muir of Chatham, Timothy (Kim) Muir of Ludlow, and Cathy (Philip) Ozzone of Wilbraham. Patrick also leaves his nephews Robert (Morgan) Gleason of Wilbraham, Colin Gleason of San Diego, Luke Muir of Belchertown, and Michael (Sara) Sears of Springfield; and his nieces Megan (Rob) Brodie of Harwich, Jackie Sears of Springfield, and Sara (Tyler) Havriliak of Chicopee (as well as other nieces and nephews). Also, a host of friends that stretch across the country that have all been there for our family. He was predeceased by his father, D. Robert Gleason in 1997. Patrick stayed loving, positive, kind, thankful, determined, and strong through all his treatments and surgeries. Patrick was a good friend, great father, and “brother” to many in the congregation, who will deeply miss him. He left his passion for each of the New England seasons in each of his children from boating, fishing and boogie boarding on the beaches of Cape Cod and Long Sands, Maine to skiing in the winters wherever there is powder to be found and moguls to be hit as they were Patrick’s favorite ski runs! There are so many friends that we would love to thank for their loving support, prayers, meals, cards, phone calls, flowers and special deliveries, and we are beyond words in thanking each of you. All of you have truly been as Proverbs 17:17 says “true friends in times of need”. Thank you!  Also, thank you to the fantastic medical team on floor 10 neurology oncology at Dana Farber especially Patrick’s Dr. Jose Ricardo (Ricky) McFaline-Figueroa and his nurses Jenn Stephanik and Meghan Cifrino, Neurosurgeon Dr. Linda Bi at Brigham and Women's and locally Baystate’s Dr. Shapiro, Dr Katz, and Dr Peluso and their fantastic staff. Any donations in behalf of Patrick can be made to JW.ORG
