Tribute

Patrick "Paud" Joseph Manning, 78, of the Hungry Hill Section of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. Patrick was born in Ballineanig, Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland the son of the late John and Katie (Browne) Manning. He was educated in Ireland and immigrated to the United States in 1960 and settled in the Springfield area. He was a hard working Irishman who mastered his craft as a Union Local 357 Iron Worker, and later in Hartford with Local 15.  He loved the outdoors and spending time "back home" in Ballineanig, County Kerry, Ireland. He deeply cherished all of his grandchildren and proudly attended many sporting events, especially those at the rink.  He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Springfield.  Patrick is survived by his beloved wife Anne Marie (Moran) Manning of Springfield, and five devoted children John Manning and his wife Kathy of Sturbridge, Michael Manning and his wife Kimberly of Wilbraham, Patrick Manning and his wife Shannon of Longmeadow, Maureen Lavelle and her husband Chuck of Wilbraham and Katie O’ Brien and her husband Patrick of Wilbraham.. He also leaves his ten adored grandchildren, Joseph, Thomas and Isabelle Manning, Rhaya, Caelyn and Addison Manning, Sean and Rory Lavelle and Padraic and Mary Kate O’ Brien. Paud also leaves a sister Kathy Corduff and her husband Christy of Dingle, Co. Kerry, Ireland and their children Mick, JJ, Catriona and Noel. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Manning. In addition, he leaves behind many beloved friends, whom he considered family.  Family and friends will gather and remember Patrick on Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 2pm-6pm at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 17, 2020 at 10a.m. in Sacred Heart Church, 395 Chestnut Street, Springfield. Burial will be private in Baile ui Bhaoithin Burial Ground in Ireland. Memorial contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church or the Charity of one’s choice. Please visit www.byronkeenan.com
