Paul E. Perrigo, 89, a longtime former resident of Wilbraham, died Thursday morning, May 18, 2017 at Wingate at East Longmeadow, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Burlington, VT on November 11, 1927 a son of the late Paul and Ida (Spaulding) Perrigo. Paul was a veteran of WW II serving with the United States Navy receiving numerous awards and citations. Upon his honorable discharge he returned to civilian life where he became employed with the railroad for a brief time and later with the United States Postal Service from which he retired in 1991 after a forty year career. He married the love of his life, the former Lucille M. Brown on January 3, 1949, who sadly passed away September of 2003. Some of Paul’s favorite pastimes included photography, woodworking, bowling, hunting and bird watching. He is survived by two loving children, Paul A. Perrigo and his wife Susan of Keene, NH, and Pamela E. Stuckenbruck and her husband John of East Longmeadow; four grandchildren, Jennifer M. Perrigo and her husband Kevin Currid, Mark W. Stuckenbruck and his wife Emily, Scott E. Stuckenbruck, and Brianna L. Stuckenbruck Geisler and her husband Ryan Geisler; three great grandchildren, Grace Perrigo-Currid, William Perrigo-Currid and Kellan Geisler. Besides his parents and wife Paul was predeceased by his daughter, Pamela Elizabeth Perrigo, his grandson, Christopher P. Perrigo, his brother, Truman Perrigo and his four sisters, Eunice Beams, Helen Perrigo, Beulah Poland and Doris Baggs. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday morning, May 23rd from 10 – 11 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., in Springfield, with a funeral home service to follow at 11 AM and Committal prayers and Naval Honors to conclude at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, 895 Parker Street, all in Springfield.
