Peter J. Albano Sr., 76 of Springfield Massachusetts, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on October 19, 2021. Peter was born on May 26, 1945, to Philomena (Basile) and Joseph Albano. Peter was raised in the South End neighborhood of Springfield by his mother and was the 4th of 5 children. In 1964 at the age of 19, Peter met Karen G. Maloni of West Springfield and they were married on February 20th, 1965. Peter and Karen soon went on to have four children. Peter worked for the Laborers Union for over 20 years. After retirement Peter spent his time savoring every minute with his family and friends that he adored. Peter enjoyed going to the racetrack and casino, he lived for family events and anywhere the fun was, he was. His cooking was loved by all as he was the family chef. He cherished going to his granddaughter’s and great grandsons’ sporting events and dance recitals, he never missed one. Peter took pride in being the best host to anyone that walked through his (revolving door), and always loved like you were his own. Peter appreciated all his coffee meets with his pals at Panera every day and watching the Yankees! He also leaves many friends at the Blue Bird Estates in East Longmeadow. Peter was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Karen G. Albano (Maloni) in 2017 who he missed dearly, and his brother Peter Joseph. Peter is survived by his three siblings, sisters Theresa Campiti, Virginia Campiti and her husband Francesco, as well as his brother Joseph Albano. His four children, Patricia A. Albano, Peter J. Albano Jr., Joseph P. Albano, and youngest daughter Christina A. Albano and her wife Kerry Gilpin, his granddaughters, Arianna C. Graveline, Talia K. Graveline and her boyfriend Nick Diorio, Samantha M. Graveline and fiancé Robert Cicero, Ava R. Albano, and his great grandson Korey M. Harrington Jr.  Peter treasured his lifelong best friends, Maryanne and Ernie Barbuti, and a dear cousin Gerald “Egor” Daniele, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins and a large extended family. He also leaves his dog Stewart. Peter will be missed greatly by all that knew and loved him.
