Phyllis M. (Sullivan) Ruell, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family. Phyllis was born in Springfield the daughter of the late William and Anastasia (Carty) Sullivan. Phyllis was a devoted communicant of St. Patrick’s Church in Springfield. She is survived by her best friend and love of her life James J. Ruell, Jr., of Springfield, a daughter Ann McPherson and her husband Paul of Potomac Falls, VA., and three loving and devoted grandchildren Kelly Westbrooks and her husband Russell of Springfield, Colin McPherson of Washington, D.C., and Caitlin McPherson of West Dennis, MA., and two cherished great-grandchildren Emma and Nicholas Westbrooks. Phyllis’s funeral will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 9a.m. from Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will conclude in Baptist Village Cemetery in East Longmeadow. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 from 4pm-6pm at the funeral home.
