Raymond A. Mort, 78, a lifelong resident of Springfield passed on Friday September, 14, 2018 at his home. Raymond was the son of the late Raymond and Catherine (Pfister) Mort. Raymond was a parishioner of Holy Name Church in Springfield. He worked for many years at Diamond Match, Rice Packaging, and retired from Cathedral High School. Raymond was predeceased by his beloved wife Marie (Keros) Mort in 2016. He leaves his three devoted children Mary-Lu Mort Irvine, son in law William Irvine, Deborah A. Mort, and Thomas F. Mort and his wife Cheryl all of Springfield, and he leaves four devoted grandchildren, Raemarie J. Walker and her husband Neil, Cathryn A. Josefiak, and Thomas R. Mort, and a great-grandson Raymond J. Walker all of Springfield. Raymond also leaves his cherished extended family members, the Willams, the Casiello, and the Reardon families and his dear friend Mary Jacot and many wonderful friends. Family and friends will gather and remember Raymond on Thursday September 20, 2018 from 9a.m.-10a.m. at Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield; Followed by a liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. Burial will conclude in St. Michael’s Cemetery, 1601 State Street, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Raymond’s memory to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104.
