Ricardo Garcia Quiles

Ricardo Garcia Quiles, 67, of Springfield, MA passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at Baystate Medical Center after a brief but courageous battle with cancer.  Ricardo was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico on March 25, 1951 and was an avid lover of life.  Ricardo’s greatest joy was being with his family.  Often the center of attention, his stories and sense of humor will be deeply missed by those who loved him.  If you met him once you’ll have a memory for life.  He is predeceased by his father, Francisco Garcia.  He is survived by his mother, Juana Quiles of Comerio, PR; his former wife of 30 years, Emma (Reyes) Garcia of Hartford, CT; their five daughters, Rebecca Garcia of Springfield, MA, Erma Garcia of Springfield, MA, Priscilla Garcia of Washington, DC, Rachel Garcia-Gosselin and her husband Mark of South Hadley, MA, Leeandra Garcia of Harford, CT; as well as nieces Maylynn Santiago and Adianez Saez, whom he considered his daughters; his beloved grandchildren, Eric Alvarez, Chanel Abrams, Chelsea Reyes, Kelsea Reyes, Xavier Corkins, Alani Almonte, Kaci Corkins, Julius Garcia, and Evan Gosselin; in addition to greatgrandchildren Kaden Alvarez, Jazier Abrams, and Brycen Alvarez.  He also leaves behind 10 surviving siblings and countless nieces and nephews, all of which he adored.  Family and friends are asked to gather on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 4-7pm at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield, MA
