Robert C. Allen

February 22, 1954 ~ September 19, 2021 (age 67) 67 Years Old

Tribute

He was a great husband and father, Robert C. “BA” Allen, 67, will be remembered for his zest for life and for the incredible love he had for his family and friends. Bob was a hard worker and skilled operator in the trucking field. Bob was a proud donor for the American Red Cross. He was honored for his generosity for consistently donating blood and platelets for well over 30 years. When BA wasn’t spending time with his family, he enjoyed playing golf with his East Side crew. One of his happy places was spending time at the beach in Westerly, Rhode Island with his “Moriarty” family. He was a passionate sports fan and loved nothing more than watching, supporting, and coaching his children on the field and court (unless he got tossed out). Bob was born in Springfield, MA to the late Brinton and Alice (Smith) Allen. He is survived by his adored wife, Diana L. (Rebeiro) Allen of 29 ½ years and his four loving children, Alexa B. of Manchester, NH., Robert C., Anthony J., and Samuel D., all of East Longmeadow, and his two sidekicks Mia and Bianca. He leaves his sister Patricia Kennedy of Decatur, GA., his brother Donald Allen and his wife Dorothy of Springfield, MA, and his sister Martha Tabb and her husband Gerry of Holland, MA. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Gerardi of West Springfield, MA, and many beloved nieces and nephews who knew him as “Uncle Robbie”. He loved spending holidays and special occasions with all of his extended family. Bob was predeceased by his sister Nancy Nicoll of Springfield, and his cherished in laws Fred and Joanne Rebeiro of West Springfield. Bob’s courageous battle against cancer came to an end on September 19, 2021 surrounded by his devoted family. Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4-7p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. Family and friends will gather and remember Bob on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 10a.m. for a Life Celebration Service at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, Bob would really appreciate a blood or monetary donation to the American Red Cross.
