Robert W Benns

Robert W. Benns, 85, of East Longmeadow, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at his home with his loving family.  Robert was born and raised in Buffalo, N.Y., on October 19, 1936, the son of the late George and Dorothy (Landell) Benns. Robert was educated in the Buffalo School System, was a long-time truck driver and proud Teamster for many years. After retirement, he became proud owner of Papa Bob’s Restaurant and Bar in Becket, MA where he loved to welcome and entertain. Robert cherished his family and friends most in life and would stop at nothing to help them, or anyone. He loved to build, throw parties, and to drive to Dunkin Donuts for his jelly-stick donuts. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his beloved wife Marjorie A. (Borghi) Benns and two brothers, Eddie and George Benns. He is survived by his seven devoted children Theresa Moreau with her husband Gary of Ludlow, Gloria Molinari and her husband David of East Longmeadow, Gigi Trombley with her husband Robert of East Longmeadow, Lawrence Green of Springfield, Tami Scott and her husband Robert of Beckett, MA., Robert Benns and his wife Maryanne of Chicopee and Tina Green of Greenfield, MA., he also leaves 24 cherished grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather and remember Robert on Thursday, June 30, 2022 for a Life Celebration Service at 10a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will follow at Billing Hills Cemetery in East Longmeadow with a Celebration-of-Life party following the burial. Donations can be made to the Dakin Humane Society or Shriners Hospital in Springfield, MA. Flowers will be donated to the Chestnut Hill Residence after the ceremony.
