Tribute

Robert (Bob) C. Black, of East Longmeadow, passed away on May 5th,2021. Robert was born in Springfield, on July 16th, 1936, the son of the late J. Charles and Anne (Pitts) Black. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by two sisters Barbara Jambazian and Ruth Hubbard and a brother Dixon Cartmill. Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years of marriage Pauline E. (Racine) Black of East Longmeadow, four children Rachel Black of East Longmeadow, Robin Black of Chicopee, Rhonda Black of East Longmeadow and Richard Black of Agawam, and he leaves five cherished grandchildren, Joseph, Hannah, Paul, Brianna and Nicholas and eight great-grandchildren and beloved grand dog Tanner. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Reserves for 12 years. He drove for Longueil Bus Co. for many years and was an Professional East Longmeadow Fire Fighter for 25 years, Retired in 1994. Bob was also the owner of R.B. Landscape of East Longmeadow for 32 years. He was a Starting member and volunteer of Hampden County Patrol & Rescue Inc. He and his family are long time members of North American Family Campers Assn. and enjoyed many, many years of camping. Family and friends will gather to remember Robert on Saturday, May 8th, 2021 from 2p.m. - 4p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. A graveside service will be held on Monday, at approximately 1p.m. in the Mettawee Valley Cemetery, Pawlet, VT.
