Robert Edward Dill Sr.

Robert Edward Dill, Sr., 82, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2022.  Bob was born in Orange, MA, on March 12, 1940, the son of the late William and Doris (Hurt) Dill. Bob proudly served our country in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He attended Gardner High school and later graduated from the University of Massachusetts Stockbridge School of Agriculture. Bob worked for many years as a Superintendent at Franconia Golf Course and later retired from the Office of the State Auditor in the Local Mandates Division. He was an avid sports fan, which led to him coaching youth baseball, basketball and football. He loved the New England Patriots and was a member of the American Legion. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his beloved wife C. Elaine (LeBlanc) Dill, a son Chad Dill, two brothers Richard and Ronald Dill and a sister Joanne Burrell. Bob is survived by his son Robert E. Dill and his wife Renee of Springfield, two sisters Linda Petrosino and her husband Patrick of Saco, ME, Carolyn Spring and her husband Wil of Templeton, MA, and his two adored grandchildren Cassidy and Tessa Dill of Springfield. Family and friends will gather and remember Bob on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 10-11a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield; Followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA, 01104.
