Robert F. “Bob” Strycharz, 67, of South Hadley, formerly of Hampden, died July 31, 2019 at his residence. He was born in Springfield, educated in Wilbraham, a son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Briggs) Strycharz. Bob served his country enlisting in the United States Marine Corps and was trained as a jet engine mechanic. After receiving his honorable discharge returned home and learned the auto body trade from his father Frank. His career in the industry spanned over thirty years. He owned and operated several auto body businesses in the Greater Springfield area including Accuframe of Wilbraham. Some of his favorite pastimes included his love of motorcycles, snowmobiles, corvette enthusiast, playing golf, watching the NE Patriots or Boston Red Sox, or just spending his leisurely time with his best friends. Bobs recently discovered his new favorite pastime, spending quality time with his grandson Sonny. He leaves his only son and best friend, Robert N. Strycharz and his wife Adriana (Panzetti) and their son Sonny Neil Strycharz of Hampden; his former wife, Maureen (Flynn) Strycharz of Hampden; four sisters, Beverly Morton of Holyoke, Donna Ashjian and her husband James of North Ridge, CA, Elizabeth Jane Presnal and her husband Robert Marchetti, Jr. of Springfield, and Charlotte Caskey and her husband Scott of Martha’s Vineyard; as well as many nieces, nephews and many loyal friends. Besides his parents Bob was predeceased by his brother Richard “Ricky” Strycharz of CA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, August 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 27 Somers Rd., in Hampden with burial and Military Honors rendered at 1:00 PM at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd., in Springfield.
