Rose J. (Silvester) Catalano, 95, of Springfield, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022 at her residence. Rose was born in the Bronx, N.Y., on March 19, 1927, the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rainone) Silvester. Rose was a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Springfield, where she was a member of the Woman’s Guild. Rose enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, word games and The New York Times Crossword. Rose worked as the executive assistant to the president of Tanenbaum Harber Insurance Company in Manhattan. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Murray Catalano, a sister Anna (Silvester) Caputo and a brother John Rainone. She was the loving aunt to Michael Caputo, Richard Caputo and his wife Patricia, Roseann Caputo and Glenn Thibert, Deborah (Calace) Agosta and her husband Rick and Nick Calace and his wife Ela and the adored great-aunt to John Agosta, Meghan (Caputo) Bricault, her husband Allen and their daughter Gwendolyn Rose, Nicole Calace, Alonzo Caputo, Christopher Caputo, Vincent Castello and his wife Ashley and Gina Hartley. Family and friends will gather and remember Rose on Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 1-3p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 16, 2022 meeting directly at 11a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 1023 Parker Street, Springfield.
