Roy F. King

Roy F. King, of Springfield, formerly of Enfield, CT died Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Renaissance Manor of Holyoke. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife, Sarita Swift-King; their children, Christopher Roy King and Jessica King Cintron of Springfield; his eldest children, Jennifer Viglione of Suffield, CT and Kelly Cormier of Newnan, Georgia; his sister, Joan Thompson of Murrells Inlet, SC; his grandchildren, Emmalis Michelle and Dominic Jr. as well as many special friends, extended family, and generations of kids and grandchildren.  Roy was a man of many words; always ready with a good story, a bad joke, and a real belly laugh, he was someone who would always have a genuine conversation with you and one to remember for a lifetime. A Marine Vietnam Veteran, he was also commonly known as “Kingo,” a living legend since his high school days in the town of Thompsonville. Roy had a reputation as being a jack-of-all-trades, a steadfast negotiator, and well-informed haggler. He always knew where the best used car lots are and the fastest route to get where you are going. Headstrong and endearing, Roy was a mentor to many who would call him family and always someone you wanted on your team. He will be sorely missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished. Relatives and friends may call on Monday, June 13th from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street in Springfield.
