SHAUN P MURPHY

Shaun P. Murphy, 51, of East Longmeadow, passed away on Saturday, March 19, 2022. He was born in Springfield on September 10, 1970, the son of the late Cornelius and Philomena (Griffin) Murphy. Shaun was a graduate of Cathedral High School. He was a lifelong parishioner of Holy Name Church. He loved camping with his family in Rhode Island, his Irish heritage, spending Sundays watching the Patriots and all of his beloved pets throughout the years. He is survived by his three devoted children Patrick Murphy of Springfield, Jack Murphy and his fiancé Kayleigh Murphy of Ludlow, Hope Murphy and Eddie Maiben of Boston, MA., his siblings Joseph Murphy of Springfield, Ellen Murphy and Michael Preston of Springfield, Mary Frances Bortolussi and her husband Louis of East Longmeadow and Neil Murphy and Linda Carbonell of Springfield, his former wife Kara (Phelan) Wadlegger of Agawam, and his longtime partner Peggy Carter of East Longmeadow, his two nieces Karra Bortolussi and Katelyn Scanlon and his two nephews Michael and John Bortolussi and he leaves his three step children Cristi, Rachel and Michelle Carter and a step-granddaughter Madeline Gamber. Shaun also leaves a large extended family in Derrymore and Duagh, Co. Kerry, Ireland. He also was predeceased by his four legged best friend Meatball. Family and friends will gather of Saturday, March 26, 2022 at 8:30a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in Holy Name Church, 323 Dickinson Street, Springfield. Burial will follow in Billing Hills Cemetery in East Longmeadow. Calling hours will be held on Friday, March 25, 2022 from 4-7p.m. at the funeral home.
