Shirley A (Harty) Toner

Shirley A. (Harty) Zimmerman Toner, 87, of East Longmeadow, passed away on November 15, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Shirley was born in Brattleboro, VT., on September 22, 1935 the daughter of the late Mitchell Harty  and Jeanette (Miller) Fairbanks. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and was an RN for many years at Mercy Hospital. Her hobby was quilting and admired by many. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Dr. Cornelius Toner, two brothers Charles and Edward Harty and two sisters Marilyn Smith and Beverly Calvanese. Shirley is survived by four devoted sons Michael Zimmerman and his wife Joyce of Hampden, Frederick Zimmerman and his wife Kathy of East Longmeadow, Kenneth Zimmerman and his husband Frank Navas of Agawam and Bryan Zimmerman and his wife Nancy of Chicopee and she leaves three adored grandchildren Michele Poteete and husband Daniel, Kurt Zimmerman and his wife Cristin and Kelby Cushman and her husband Steve and she leaves four great-grandchildren Sterling, Holly, Elizabeth and Hannah.
