Teresa Ann Boyle

Teresa “Tess” Ann Boyle, 84, of East Longmeadow and formerly of Ludlow passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Hartford Hospital. Tess was born in Springfield on April 24, 1938, the daughter of the late James and Ellen (Devereaux) Boyle. Tess received her undergraduate degree from Our Lady of the Elm’s College as well as an advanced degree in Special Education. She was a lifelong teacher in Springfield working at both Shriner’s Hospital and the Springfield Public Schools with both regular education as well as special education students. She was active in the Teacher’s Union, Springfield Educational Association, participated in Cursillo and was part of the Amherst Writers and Artists. Tess enjoyed travel, spending time with friends, reading and spending time with her cat Lola. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her brothers James, Thomas, Bernard and Gene and a sister Mary Ellison. Tess is survived by her four sisters Catherine Spengler of Springfield MA, Patricia Lucey and Sheila McLaughlin of Reading, MA and Noreen Whitcomb of East Longmeadow, MA as well as her sister-in-laws Mary Boyle of Biddeford, ME, Claire Boyle of Plainville, MA and many nieces and nephews. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10:30A.M. in St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA.  Burial wll be private.  Donations may be made to Doctors Without Borders or the charity of your choice.
