Thomas J. Cook, 91, of Provincetown, MA, formerly of Springfield, passed away at home on Wednesday, August 15, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY on November 17, 1926 he was a son of the late Thomas and Bertha (Johnnesen) Cook. Tom grew up in Groton, CT, graduating from Robert E. Fitch High School. He went on to proudly serve in the US Navy during WWII. Tom spent most of his adult life in Springfield, MA where he and his late wife, Anita (Patterson) Cook, raised their family. He leaves his three sons, Thomas Cook of Florida, Barry Cook, with whom he lived the past 2 years, of Provincetown, MA, and David Cook and his wife Robin of Wilbraham; four grandchildren, Thomas, Charles, Phillip, and Sunshine; and two brothers, Russel Cook of Fairfax, VA and Robert Cook of Sparks, NV. Along with his wife and parents, Tom was predeceased by his two brothers, Ralph and Donald Cook; and his two sisters, Evelyn Cross and Marion Sampson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Fiona for all the care she gave Thomas. Committal services with military honors will be held on Thursday, August 23, 2018 at 1pm in the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main St, Agawam, MA. There are no calling hours.
