Thomas Joseph Hartford, 72, of Springfield, passed away on January 8, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center. Thomas was born in West Springfield on January 5, 1950, the son of the late Francis and Julia (Andras) Hartford. He graduated from West Springfield High School, and attended STCC. He worked at Mansir-Holden as a pressman. He loved to make karaoke videos in retirement. Being a radio man of the navy, he loved to tinker with electronics. He enjoyed taking walks and traveling. He was a communicant of St Patrick Church. He was a lectern, CCD teacher, and helped in the soup kitchen. He was always willing to help anyone in need. Thomas proudly served our country in the United States Navy. Thomas is survived by his beloved wife Christine M. (Meunier) Hartford of Springfield, three devoted children Jeffrey Hartford of Greenfield, MA., Amanda Shambaugh and her husband Jeremy of North Sandwich, N.H., and Kaitlin Hartford and Jeremiah Mathis of Springfield, MA., and leaves four adored grandchildren Brooke, Kelsea, Morrigan and Lilly. He also leaves three brothers William Hartford of West Springfield, John Hartford and his wife Karen of Chester, VT., Philip Hartford of West Springfield, MA., and three sisters Anne Kent of West Springfield, Kathleen Vermette and her husband James of Aldenville, MA., and Lori Hare and her husband Gary of Feeding Hills, MA. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 at 10a.m. in St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. Followed by Burial and Military honors in St. Thomas Cemetery in West Springfield.
