William Kinsey, of Wilbraham, MA, formerly of Springfield, MA was born in Middle Village, NY. William departed this world August 19, 2019 at the age of 93. Predeceased by his wife of 71 years Muriel S Kinsey. William attended Newton High School in Elmhurst NY. He graduated from St. Johns University. William was a WWII Navy veteran. He served in the Pacific areas aboard the U.S.S. Virgo AKA-20 and made the invasion of Iwo Jima and Okinawa. He was a radar operator as a naval reservist. He was recalled for the Korean conflict. William retired from Titeflex Corp and was a longtime member of Bethesda Lutheran Church, Springfield MA. He is survived by his son, Richard Kinsey and his grandson, Nathan Kinsey. He also leaves behind his daughter-in-law, Patricia Lough Kinsey with whom he resided, and mother of his treasured grandson, Scott Kinsey and adored granddaughter, Samantha Kinsey. He also leaves Scott’s wife, his granddaughter-in-law, Sh’vawn Kinsey and their daughter, his precious great granddaughter, Keira, and Samantha’s partner, Quinn Hogan. My last years were a blessing as Patricia graciously opened her home to me. Sailors never die, they simply sail to another life. Family and friends are welcome to gather for a funeral home service for William on Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at 6pm at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield.
