Jacqueline “Jackie” (Kuralt) Fitzgerald, 71 of East Longmeadow, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Lahey Clinic, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Westfield, MA on April 19, 1943 the daughter of the late Robert and Josephine (Bonzek) Kuralt. Jackie was a graduate of the Mercy School of Nursing, class of 1964. She was employed at Mercy Hospital   for over 20 years and worked in the ICU, CCU and In-service Education departments.  She was also employed at the Shriner’s Hospital as a staff RN. Jackie was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in East Longmeadow. She is survived by her beloved husband of 46 years, Tom Fitzgerald of East Longmeadow, three devoted children Kara Conway and her husband Tommy of Longmeadow, Brian Fitzgerald of East Longmeadow and Kerri Campbell and her husband Brian of Longmeadow, her seven adored grandchildren Kay, Kelly, Tommy, Kerry, Kate, Clare and Will all of Longmeadow, two brothers Joseph Kuralt and his wife Carol of Granby, MA., Frank Kuralt and his wife Donna of Westfield, a sister Jean Collins of Orleans, MA., two brother-in-laws, Jack Fitzgerald and his wife Alice of Ludlow, Mike Fitzgerald and his wife Andree of Wilbraham, and a special sister-in-law and dear friend Beth Lofquist of Northford, CT, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Fitzgerald’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at 9:45a.m. from the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11a.m. in St. Michael Church 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow. Burial will be in Longmeadow Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to a gathering on Monday, July 14, 2014 from 3p.m. until 7p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers her family requests memorial contributions be made in Jackie’s memory to The Shriners Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Spfld., MA 01104 or the St. Michael’s Parish Outreach Program, 128 Maple Street, East Longmeadow, MA 01028.
