To my godfather: the truths we shared are irrevocable, the trust unwavering, I know you will be the first to welcome me, I miss you so much I can't breath if I think about you for more than a moment

Chuckie! You were always so kind to us youngsters in the 80's as we were coming to terms with who we were. You always had a kind word and always welcomed us into your "house". You will never be forgotten for that kindness and friendship. Although I haven't seen you in many years, you will always hold a special place in my heart. Rest in peace my friend, until we meet again.

Good bye, Chuck! some of my fondest memories are with you or in the community you created and of which you were the matriarch. It is sad that today's young LGBT youth will not know the sense of community that we enjoyed and that you engendered. Thank you for your friendship, your mentorship, and your humor. Your memory and legacy will live on! God bless. I'm not sure resting in peace is your style, though. I see you kicking up your heels and leading the archangels in a rousing rendition of " We Are Family""!!! Bye, Chuck. I love you.
