Mary (Caronna) O’ Connor, 93, of the Sixteen Acres section of Springfield, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2018 at her home. She was born in Enfield, Ct., on December 10, 1924, the daughter of the late Frank and Mary (Gunnisicio) Caronna. Mary was a graduate of the Mercy Medical School. She was a parishioner of St. Patrick’s Church in Enfield and Holy Cross Church in Springfield. She was employed by the City of Springfield as a registered nurse, where she worked in the health department. She was also a school nurse for Kiley Middle School. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Thomas O’ Connor in 2002. She is survived by her devoted children, Thomas O’ Connor of Springfield and Carolyn O’ Connor and her long-time partner, Kenneth Tober of Springfield, a brother Vincent Caronna and two cherished grandchildren Shannon O’ Connor and Christopher O’ Connor. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 at 10a.m. in Holy Cross Church, Plumtree Road, Springfield. Burial will conclude in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family requests donation be made to Holy Cross Church.
