Marilyn Ethel (Francis) Kadzik

Marilyn Ethel (Francis) Kadzik, 85, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died Friday, June 16, 2017 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family. Born and educated in Springfield, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Ethel (Gifford) Francis and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Marilyn was employed for over 35 years with the former Third National Bank as a supervisor of the International Wire Transfer Department. Marilyn gave back to the Greater Springfield area by volunteering her time in community services projects including reading with and mentoring 3rd grade students, the Living History Program, the Springfield Soup Kitchen and many, many  others.   Marilyn also was an active member of the Golden Blue Ribbon Singers Choir and the Springfield Quota Club. Most importantly her greatest pleasure and joy was her best friend and devoted husband of 59 years, Tadeusz S. “Ted” Kadzik and her loving daughter, Diane N. Kadzik of Enfield. Besides her husband and daughter she leaves a sister, Nancy MacCallum of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Richard Francis.  Her family would like to extend a special thanks to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice, especially to Carolyn and Maria for the loving care and support they provided to Marilyn.   Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday morning, June 21st from 9-11 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., in Springfield, followed by a funeral home service beginning at 11 AM. Burial will be private in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marilyn’s name may be directed to Baystate Visiting Nurse and Hospice, 50 Maple St., Springfield, MA 01102 or a charity of your choice.  For more information, please visit
